Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

This invention provides a method and system for designing and manufacturing customized apparel. The process involves obtaining detailed body measurements from a user, gathering pattern or design preferences, and integrating this data to generate manufacturing instructions for an automated machine, such as a knitting machine. The system can adjust for physical characteristics, incorporate user-selected designs or avatars, compensate for fabric shrinkage, and produce apparel that is both made-to-measure and highly personalized, all with minimal human intervention.

Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Retail stores offering on-demand, custom-fit apparel production for customers.
  • E-commerce platforms enabling users to design and order personalized clothing online.
  • Sports teams or organizations providing tailored uniforms with precise fit and unique graphic elements.
  • Medical or therapeutic clothing solutions requiring exact body-specific fits (e.g., compression garments, orthotic wear).
  • Fashion brands looking to introduce rapid prototyping or limited edition personalized designs.
  • Pop-up or in-store events where customers can interactively design and immediately receive custom apparel.

BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

  • Highly individualized clothing that fits the user perfectly, improving comfort and appearance.
  • Enhanced user engagement by allowing customers to actively participate in the garment's design process using avatars or interactive interfaces.
  • Faster turnaround times for custom-made clothing, suitable even for same-day delivery in retail settings.
  • Consistent high quality because customization is integrated into manufacturing instructions for automated machines, reducing errors and manual adjustments.
  • Ability to directly compensate for variables such as material shrinkage and user body shape, ensuring long-lasting fit and satisfaction.
  • Reduced inventory needs for manufacturers and retailers, as items are produced on-demand rather than in bulk.
  • Potential integration with digital platforms for easier user data collection, repeat orders, or virtual try-on experiences.
