Implant
Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
The invention is an implant designed to replace bone or cartilage material. It is made from multiple building blocks constructed from a non-metallic, linearly elastic material, which are connected to each other by at least three bridges made from a viscoelastic polymer. These connections allow gaps to remain between the blocks, permitting relative movement between neighboring blocks.
Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Orthopedic surgery for bone defect repair
- Joint cartilage replacement in cases of injury or degeneration
- Craniofacial reconstruction post-trauma or disease
- Customizable implants for complex anatomical shapes in reconstructive surgery
BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Enhanced flexibility and movement due to the relative mobility between blocks
- Reduced risk of metal-related allergies or incompatibilities thanks to non-metallic materials
- Potentially better mimicry of natural bone or cartilage mechanical behavior
- Customizable design adaptable to various anatomical requirements
- Minimized stress-shielding and improved integration with surrounding tissue

Patent Abstract
