Method for movement correction of three dimensional digital subtraction angiography, during visualization of e.g. blood vessel tree in heart of human body, involves producing subtracted volume that is reduced at subtraction artifacts
Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
This invention describes a method and device to correct patient or organ movement during three-dimensional digital subtraction angiography (3D-DSA). It does so by registering and aligning different image datasets before performing subtraction, resulting in clearer images of structures like blood vessels with fewer artifacts caused by motion.
Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Improving the accuracy of 3D angiography in cardiac imaging
- Enhancing visualization of blood vessels in the brain or other organs
- Supporting image-guided surgical planning and interventions
- Reducing repeat imaging procedures due to motion artifacts
- Enabling more precise diagnosis of vascular diseases
BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Reduces artifacts caused by patient or organ movement, leading to clearer images
- Increases diagnostic accuracy for vascular conditions
- Decreases the need for repeated scans, reducing radiation exposure and costs
- Improves confidence in surgical or interventional planning
- Provides more reliable imaging for complex clinical cases

Patent Abstract
The method involves implementing movement correction by two dimensional or three dimensional registration (27) and subtraction of two-dimensional image data sets, which comprise mask image data set and filling image data set. The mask image data set and the filling image data set are subtracted from each other. Registration process is applied for registration of image data sets. The process is based on additional two-dimensional image data sets so that subtracted volume is produced, where the subtracted volume is reduced at subtraction artifacts. The volume is represented using a display unit. An independent claim is also included for a device for movement correction of the three dimensional digital subtraction angiography.
