Preparation Method for Graphene Oxide Suitable for Graphene Production
Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
This patent describes a new, improved method for producing graphene oxide from graphite, which is specifically optimized for subsequent production of high-quality graphene. The process minimizes carbon-containing by-products and introduces fewer defects into the resulting material. The disclosed method results in pristine graphite oxide and pristine graphene oxide that can be more easily and efficiently converted to graphene with superior electrical, thermal, and mechanical properties compared to conventional methods.

Patent Abstract
A method is disposed, wherein graphite is oxidised by reaction with an oxidising agent and pristine graphite oxide is obtained. Furthermore, a method is described, wherein graphite oxide is worked up and pristine graphene oxide is obtained. Additional, a method for the production of graphene is claimed, wherein graphite is oxidised and/or graphite oxide is worked up and all by-products produced throughout the oxidation and/or work-up contain less than 1 atom of carbon per 100 atoms of carbon contained in the graphite.
