Verfahren zum Erkennen eines Inrushereignisses an wenigstens einem an ein elektrisches Wechselspannungsnetz (1) mit einer Netzfrequenz angeschlossenen Transformator (8, 10), umfassend folgende Schritte:- Analysieren eines zeitlichen Verlaufs von Stromwerten wenigstens einer in Abhängigkeit eines Leitungsstroms auf einer mit dem wenigstens einen Transformator (8, 10) verbundenen Leitung (6AB) ermittelten Strominformation mittels wenigstens eines Analysealgorithmus (35, 36, 37);- Bestimmen eines Erkennungswerts (62) für das Vorliegen des Inrushereignisses für eine jeweilige Strominformation in Abhängigkeit eines jeweiligen Ergebnisses (45, 48, 55) der Analyse des wenigstens einen Analysealgorithmus (35, 36, 37);- Auswerten eines einen jeweiligen Erkennungswert (62) verwendenden Erkennungskriteriums; und- Ausgeben eines das Inrushereignis anzeigenden Steuersignals (19), wenn das Erkennungskriterium erfüllt ist.
