Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.

This patent describes a method for manufacturing hybrid fiber reinforced plastic components using a special molding process. The process involves heating a semi-finished plastic product, placing it in a mold, applying gas pressure to one side to press it tightly against the mold wall, and then cooling and removing the final shaped part.

Patent Abstract

The method involves placing plate-like semi-finished products (1,5) between tools (3,7) of mold. A portion of semi-finished product is heated to temperature above softening temperature of thermoplastic matrix. The tools are closed with primary closing pressure so that product is clamped between opening edges (2,6) of tools. The working gas overpressure is generated at one side of the product so that other side of product is forced gas-tightly against cavities (4,8) defining mold wall of tool in heated State. The deformed blank is cooled and demolded. An independent claim is included for molding tool for manufacturing fiber reinforced plastic component.
