Device and methods for gripping and positioning a permanent magnet
Simple SummaryContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
The patent describes a device and method for gripping and positioning permanent magnets, especially for use in automated assembly of electromagnetic machines such as electric motor rotors. The key innovation is an electromagnetic gripper with a single working magnetic pole at its pickup face, controlled by changing the polarity of an applied DC voltage. This avoids the unpredictable attractive and repulsive forces that arise with traditional multi-pole electromagnetic or permanent magnet grippers, enabling precise, safe, and automated handling of strong permanent magnets without mechanical clamping or risk of misalignment.
Use CasesContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Automated assembly lines for electric motors, generators, or other machines requiring placement of permanent magnets.
- Robotic manipulation systems handling strong permanent magnets in factory automation.
- Assembly of rotors or stators in hybrid/electric vehicle manufacturing.
- Robotic systems used for maintenance, repair, or recycling of devices containing permanent magnets.
- Production and alignment of magnetic sensor arrays or precision scientific instruments requiring accurate magnet positioning.
BenefitsContent extracted from patent full text and abstract with AI.
- Offers safe, precise, and controlled gripping of strong permanent magnets, reducing risk of misplacement or accidental ejection.
- Eliminates the need for complex mechanical grippers or manual placement, increasing automation and reducing labor costs.
- Designed to avoid spontaneous movement or random orientation of magnets during handling, improving assembly accuracy and product quality.
- Easily adapts to different magnet shapes and sizes through interchangeable tool tips.
- Reduces potential for operator injury and minimizes damage to sensitive magnets, enabling safer handling in industrial environments.
- Simplifies the automation of previously difficult assembly steps, supporting high-throughput and consistent production.
