Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Qualitätsprüfung des Materials von grobkörnigen Böden (2), insbesondere von Sportböden (2), mit wenigstens den Schritten:• Bilden (100) wenigstens eines Abschnitts des Bodens (2) mit einer glatten horizontalen Oberfläche,• Ausrichten (400) eines Prüfkegels (16) eines Prüfgeräts (1) in der vertikalen Richtung (Z) gegenüber der glatten horizontalen Oberfläche des Bodens (2) derart, dass die Kegelspitze (16a) des Prüfkegels (16) die glatte horizontale Oberfläche berührt,• Fallenlassen (600) des Prüfkegels (16) mittels des Prüfgeräts (1) in der vertikalen Richtung (Z) mit der Kegelspitze (16a) in den Boden (2) hinein, und• Erfassen (700) der Wegänderung des Prüfkegels (16) in der vertikalen Richtung (Z) mittels einer Wegmesseinrichtung (14) des Prüfgeräts (1).
