Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur fermentativen Erzeugung von Biogas aus Biomasse, wobei Biomasse in einem Fermentierungsreaktor bereit gestellt wird, und wobei man der Biomasse Ethanol in einem Bereich von ≥ 0,01 Vol.-% bis ≤ 1,5 Vol.-%, bezogen auf das Gesamtvolumen der Biomasse im Fermentierungsreaktor, zusetzt, sowie die Verwendung von Ethanol insbesondere Ethanol-haltiger Lösung oder Ethanol-haltigen Gärgutes zur Steigerung der Ausbeute der fermentativen Erzeugung von Biogas aus Biomasse.
